Eyeliners on aluminum foil. 30 second blind contour drawing of my brother. He wasn’t a fan of the outcome😂
Leandrea, I'm super impressed! My favorite is of the girl on the paper towel. Drawing on a paper towel is super hard, let alone using lip gloss! The drawing looks like you used colored pencils. I love it!
ReplyDeleteHey, these are great! Do you have a preferred surface out of these? I think the wax paper works really well- maybe the waxy composition of lipstick just lays really nicely on the waxed surface, and the translucency is great. The paper towel is really interesting too- you get the little perforation pattern as an underlying texture for the figure. They're very home-domestic-kitchen with lipstick- there's some interesting potential for context and connotation there. Could be worth leaning into- it's very early 20th century feminist, women's work is work, domestic labor is labor, making the domestic sphere visible sort of feel. And the blind contour is great. The gesture and density of the marks on that reflective surface is really fantastic.
